Hardik said at the time of toss
“It’s always about playing for pride, it feels quite tough for us but at the same time, we want to play good cricket, it feels good to be back home. Looks like a good track, it’s a refreshing wicket So I thought I have to bowl first, be good.”
During the game, experts like Graeme Smith and Brett Lee kept exploring the reasons behind Rohit’s absence, while team mentor Sachin Tendulkar also interacted with Rohit. It is believed that the reason for Rohit’s omission could be injury problem.
The bowlers of Mumbai Indians performed well, due to which the team bowled out Kolkata Knight Riders for only 150 runs. Despite Rohit’s absence, the team’s players have together boosted hopes and continued to campaign for the team.
KKR captain Shreyas Iyer said
“It’s always about doing the little things well, obviously dew is a factor but we have to keep that out of our minds. The message is clear, every one of them knows their role and responsibility. Batting first , We are moving forward with that team.
