RCB has never been able to win the IPL title since then, but last week there was an uproar in the whole world regarding the team’s title. After six defeats on the season, RCB gave the good news of their first win by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad last week.
The win was the result of a collective performance by the batsmen and bowlers, which proved to be an important step forward for RCB.
This season, RCB have not performed well at times, but in the last match they defied the odds with their performance, especially with the bat, in their second game. In the powerplay, RCB conceded runs heavily, but a change in selection was required for the bowlers.
Former great spinner of Indian cricket, Harbhajan Singh has given an important message about the team. He said that if RCB really wants to come on top, then apart from the batsmen, the team will also have to take the help of good bowlers.
As per Harbhajan’s opinion about RCB, he should not be behind the activity and enthusiasm of the batsmen here. According to him, if the team relies only on the sensitivity of scoring runs, the struggle can never win a major title.
Harbhajan said on Star Sports
“Absolutely! Those people who are sitting in the auction, I don’t understand this. When you guys go to the auction, you see that you guys want a balanced team. Heavy batting doesn’t always win you matches. Unless you pick good bowlers, you will not win. (Definitely. Those who sit in the auction have to make sure that they have a balanced team. Batting heavily will not always win you matches.) Unless you choose good bowlers, you will not win.)
Harbhajan Singh further stressed, “It is important to have an Indian in the management so that he can understand the Indian pitches, can live with the Indian players. The team can be selected by looking at him and good bowlers can be selected.”
Currently, RCB has won just two from nine matches. They are now looking forward to their next match against Gujarat Titans, which could be an important match.
