GT’s young captain Shubman Gill has set a new record in the Indian Premier League. Gill completed 3000 runs during a group match played against RR, breaking Kohli’s record.
At the age of only 24 years and 215 days, Shubman Gill achieved this feat, making him the youngest batsman to score 3000 runs. He achieved this feat in only 94 innings and before that Kohli had the name.
Kohli had earlier made the record of scoring 3000 runs at the youngest age of 26 years and 186 days.
Taking this a step further, Shubman Gill has also become the fourth fastest batsman to score 3000 runs in IPL 2024. Which he completed in 94 innings.
Thus, Gill is at third position, as Chris Gayle scored 3000 runs in 75 innings and KL Rahul scored 3000 runs in 80 innings. Whereas Jos Buttler, Shubman Gill and Faf du Plessis took 94 innings to reach this milestone.
It is a big achievement for GT captain Shubman Gill’s cricket career to leave Virat Kohli behind by breaking the record of scoring 3000 runs at a young age, after which it is believed that Gill is now ready to play a more important role.
