The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken the situation seriously as it looks to fill Rahul Dravid’s place after his tenure ends. Keeping in mind the wisdom and vision of the game of Chennai Super Kings Director Stephen Fleming, the BCCI has made him available as a candidate for the replacement of Rahul Dravid.

Serving as the coach of Chennai Super Kings since 2009, Stephen Fleming has made the franchise proud with five IPL trophies. Having confidence in his wealth of experience and leadership abilities, the BCCI has proposed him as Rahul Dravid’s replacement.
However, it is quite difficult to predict this decision directly. Especially in these times, when the leadership is away from the national teams due to heavy workload, a foreign coach may find it a challenge in leading the Indian cricket team.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said that the cricket administration is looking for a new coach for a period of at least three years. He personally feels the need for a head coach for all three formats of the game.

“There is no precedent in Indian cricket for different coaches for different formats. Also, we have many players who are players in all formats. Ultimately, it is the decision of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC). They Whatever decisions are taken, I have to implement them.”
It could be prudent to select Stephen Fleming as he has served in the IPL for a long time and Chennai Super Kings have performed under his leadership. Considering the respect he has for him in the Indian cricket world and his leadership abilities, he can be selected as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team.
