Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s name has been written in golden letters in the history of Indian cricket. His captaincy in world cricket and his strong devotion to the game needs no introduction. Even in the current IPL season, Dhoni’s magic has not diminished. Regardless of his age and injuries, he has entertained everyone with his batting.
Recently, another example of Dhoni’s humility and respect towards fans came to light. By signing his picture drawn by a fan, he not only made that fan’s day but also won everyone’s heart. This incident went viral and Dhoni’s fans once again praised his personality.
The change in his batting order in the IPL surprised many. When Dhoni batted at number nine against Punjab Kings, it was an unexpected move. Former players like Irfan Pathan and Harbhajan Singh raised questions regarding this. However, it was later revealed that Dhoni was suffering from an injury, which affected his presence on the field.
According to a report in Times of India, Dhoni had a leg muscle injury, which hindered him from running between the wickets. For this reason he came late in the batting order. A source said that the general public has no idea of the sacrifices made by Dhoni and his team.
This year, if Devon Conway had been available in the team, Dhoni might have rested a few matches. But, in his absence, Dhoni continued to play and gave his all for the team.
Dhoni’s contribution and his achievements will always be remembered, be it on the field or off the field.
