In an important match of IPL 2024, Gujarat Titans defeated Chennai Super Kings by 35 runs. After this match, Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill has been fined Rs 24 lakh as he violated the team’s over rate.
Chennai Super Kings batsmen also worked hard, but they could score only 196 runs. Gujarat showed good bowling in this match, due to which they could end Chennai’s innings at 196 runs only.
After this win, Gujarat Titans have added 10 points to their account and have reached eighth position in the points table. At the same time, Chennai Super Kings is also in fourth place with 12 points. With this win, Gujarat Titans’ chances of reaching the playoffs have improved, while Chennai Super Kings need to work harder in their next matches.
After the match, Gill said, “To be honest, at one point the target was 250 runs and we fell short. He bowled well in the last two-three overs. I thought not in terms of the match but in terms of net run rate. In that sense, we were left behind by 10-15 runs.”
During CSK’s chase, Rahul Tewatia took over the leadership of the team, but he left the field early. Despite this, Gill praised his 210-run opening partnership with Sudarshan, saying
“I liked the free-spiritedness of it (the partnership with Sudarshan), we had no target in mind, we took every over and opportunity that came our way.” Took maximum advantage.
