KL Rahul, Lucknow Super Giants captain, recently broke his silence about the ongoing debate over his strike rate in T20 cricket during the IPL 2024 match played against Kolkata Knight Riders.
This season, both Rahul and Virat Kohli featured in the top 5 run scorers but were criticized for their strike rates.
Due to this, Rahul has separated himself from the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024.
Team captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar made it clear that they were looking for middle-order batsmen as wicket-keeping options, which is why they selected Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson.
KL Rahul comments on strike rate issue!
“We will bowl first. I am not the best reader of the wicket, we just like to chase. The good thing is that we have been able to adapt really well and quickly to the conditions, some brilliant individual performances Well, there is a lot of talk about strike-rate and there has been a lot of change in T20 cricket in the last few years. He was injured in the last game, Yash Thakur has come in place of Mayank Yadav.”
Apart from this, he said, “We must have also bowled well. Defending that score with five bowlers in the last game has given us a lot of confidence. There is a lot of confidence in the team. We are going with the same team. Hopefully We will continue like this.”
