Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2024 journey has ended, and many unique things have come to light about this season. This season was extremely challenging for the team, with one tough hurdle preventing them from reaching the playoffs.
However, at the end of the season, team captain Rohit Sharma put in a strong performance, which was a testament to his good play, but it was not enough to help the team achieve success in their campaign.

Mumbai Indians head coach Mark Boucher reviewed the season in his final post-match press conference and he lauded Rohit Sharma’s excellent play. This season has been special for Rohit Sharma, considering this season, many believe that this could be a result of Rohit Sharma’s 14-year journey with MI coming to an end.
It will be interesting to see what decisions players like Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah take, as they could face a choice between staying in the auction pool or being left out.
Head coach Mark Boucher took note of the important role of Rohit Sharma and appreciated his game. They said,
“For me, he is the master of his own destiny. It’s a big auction next season, who knows what’s going to happen? It was a season of two halves for the former MI captain as he started strong.” Rohit was going in the right direction to run some excellent runs for us,” the head coach said.
Additionally, Boucher also revealed that he had a discussion with Rohit Sharma last night and they talked about further plans.
“I had a discussion with Rohit Sharma last night. We reviewed the season this year. After which, I asked him what’s next (in the IPL)? And Rohit said ‘World Cup’,” Boucher said.
Thus, it is clear from the statements of MI players and their head coach that their plans and destinations remain in place even after IPL 2024. There are expectations from this team regarding the consistency of performance and quality of play, which can lead them to success moving forward.
