MS Dhoni prays at Deori Mata temple in Jharkhand before IPL 2024

The captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), MS Dhoni, recently went on a spiritual pilgrimage to the world-renown Deori Mata Temple in the town of Tamar, around 60 kilometres outside of Ranchi. The renowned cricketer made this trek in the lead-up to the much anticipated IPL 2024 in order to seek the blessings of Goddess Maa Durga.

Against Gujarat Titans (GT) in May during the IPL, Dhoni captained CSK to their fifth championship win, his last on-field participation. Afterwards, the skipper started his road to recovery after undergoing knee surgery.

The 42-year-old finished his rehabilitation in the months that followed, and he is now getting ready for the forthcoming Indian Premier League season by practicing his batting at Ranchi’s Jharkhand State Cricket Association Stadium.

Dedicated admirers got a glimpse of MS Dhoni off the pitch when they recorded a recent video of him at the Deori Mata Temple. The video shows Dhoni waiting in queue with other worshippers, all of whom are sharing this holy moment with him.

Due to Dhoni’s legendary status, Rishabh Pant is under pressure

Rishabh Pant, wicketkeeper for Team India, recently spoke about his close friendship with MS Dhoni in an interview with Star Sports.

The depth of my bond with him is difficult for me to put into words. “I feel completely comfortable confiding in him, even about sensitive topics that I usually keep hidden from other people,” he gushed.

Pant recalls going to Dhoni for advice during a training session and shared the story.

“I told him during training that I’m great at wicketkeeping in IPL games but that I often make a fool of myself when representing my country.”

The cricketing great nonchalantly told the young player to keep his mindset the same for international games when he asked for his counsel.

My comment was, ‘It’s as if it’s that simple.’ I then playfully teased, ‘Bhaiyya, you are a legend, and I’m just beginning.'” (laughs). “You became famous and then put all the pressure on me; that’s really unfair,” he said with a laugh.

As he prepares to return to competitive cricket in the IPL 2024, Rishabh Pant is now undergoing rehabilitation. Cricket fans are waiting impatiently for him to get back on the pitch as he begins his quest to get in peak physical condition.
