Navjot Singh is back as commentator for IPl 2024

Navjot Singh Siddhu is ready to make a grand comeback to the commentary box in the upcoming season of IPL 2024. Who can forget his “Thoko Taali” and his comical punch lines in commentary? Now we are again lucky enough to listen to his attractive voice and entertaining commentary.

The IPL opener between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai will be graved by his voice.

Star Sports announced this by posting on their official X account. In their post, they captioned, “A wise man once said, “Hope is the biggest ‘tope’. And this wise man, the great @sherryontopp himself, has joined our Incredible StarCast! Don’t miss his incredible commentary (and gajab one-liner) in #IPLOnStar—STARS MAR 22, 5:30 PM onwards, LIVE on Star Sports Network!”

His journey as a commentator in IPL

Navjot Singh Siddhu’s journey as a commentator began during the 2001 bilateral series against India and Sri Lanka. He quickly gained popularity for his unique style and one-liners. He became the face of Indian commentary.

In less time, he became the most-loved figure in the cricketing world. After mesmerizing the audience with his commentary and witty lines, Siddhu took a break from comedy and jumped into politics in 2004. He joined the BJP and contested the election from the Amristar constituency.

He won twice from this constituency and held his position from 2004 to 2014, during which he had to take a temporary backseat during his political journey. However, to fulfil the desires of cricket fans, he is now ready to return to the commentary box to entertain us

Lok Sabha election effect on IPL schedule

As we know, the 17th season of the IPL is going to start on March 22, but BCCI has only announced the schedule for the first 17 matches and has yet to announce the schedule for later matches of the IPL. BCCI had to do it because there will be a Lok Sabha election in India.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced that the elections will start on April 19 in seven phases. That’s why BCCI has to wait to adjust IPL matches for the elections. So IPL fans, get ready on March 22 to support your favourite IPL team while enjoying cricket with the humour of our new commentator, Navjot Singh Siddhu.
