In fact, the team’s leading bowler Mitchell Starc was recently injured in the match against SRH team, due to which he was not fully prepared for the match against RCB. To which he was given this information by KKR wicketkeeper KS Bharat during his speech in the dressing room.
Despite being second in the points table, KKR needs to improve their bowling in the upcoming matches as KKR is scheduled to face PBKS on Thursday at the Eden Gardens.
There is still suspense over Starc’s play in this match. The team management and physiotherapist are keeping an eye on Starc’s fitness, as this season is full of challenges for KKR. The team will have to improve every aspect of the game along with the fitness of its star player.
IPL 2024: Mitchell Starc Performance
Mitchell Starc, who was the most expensive buy by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction, has performed poorly in the ongoing tournament which is a matter of concern for his team. He is not in the bowling form for which he is known.
Mitchell Starc has taken six wickets in seven matches so far, while giving 287 runs, his economy has been 11.48 and in the recent match for KKR, Starc gave 55 runs in his three overs.
If KKR wants to strengthen their position this season then they need to immediately improve their bowling strategy. If Starc is unable to play in the next match, then young bowlers like Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora will have to take more responsibility.
