Rajasthan Royals Defeated Mumbai Indians by 9 wickets to secure their 7th Victory

In the 38th contest of the tournament, RR emerged victorious by defeating Mumbai Indians by 9 wickets. While batting first, Mumbai Indians made a total of 179/9 at the end of 20 overs and RR chased down the target in just 18.4 overs to register their third consecutive victory and overall 7th victory of the season.

Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed a massive ton while Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson also played crucial knocks for the side. RR is placed at the first spot in the table while MI is now standing in the 7th position with 3 wins in 8 matches.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Smashed an Outstanding Hundred

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s performance in the initial matches of the season was not good and many questions were rising regarding his presence in the Indian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He made a strong comeback and smashed 104 runs in 60 deliveries at a strike rate of 173.33 including 9 fours and 7 sixes. Jos Buttler also scored 35 runs in 25 deliveries at a strike rate of 140.00 including 6 fours while Sanju Samson also scored 38 runs in 28 deliveries including 2 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 135.71.

From the bowling department of the Mumbai Indians, Piyush Chawla picked up 1 wicket at the expense of 33 runs in 4 overs while the other bowlers of the side could not take any wicket. Jasprit Bumrah delivered 4 overs but could not pick any wicket at the expense of 37 runs.

Sandeep Sharma Picked up 5 Wickets

From the bowling unit of the Rajasthan Royals, the performance of Sandeep Sharma was very impressive as he picked up 5 wickets at the expense of 32 runs in 4 overs at an economy of 8.00. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan returned to the pavilion when the total score of the side was just 6 runs in 1.3 overs. 

The side had lost 4 wickets at the score of just 52 runs in 7.3 overs but Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera made a crucial partnership of 99 runs for the side and rescued the side from an unwanted situation.
