After which Hardik has trained in the US for his bowling ahead of his first practice match against Bangladesh. But despite this, controversy has arisen in terms of the team’s bowling options.
Former player Sunil Gavaskar considers Hardik Pandya as a backup fast bowler
He said, “Balanced bowling attack is most important in the West Indies, so India can go with three spinners and two fast bowlers, with Hardik Pandya as the backup fast bowler. I think this will maintain the balance of the team.”
However, amid this controversy, some experts have considered Mohammed Shami’s bowling important and have mentioned him specifically in terms of the Indian bowling attack. Meanwhile, more discussions are being held in the next few days in terms of the bowling of the Indian team.
Ahead of the World Cup, the Indian cricket team’s reporters and coaches have actively worked to resolve the dispute, in a bid to maintain the balance of the team and strengthen the confidence in its bowling.
In this context, former Indian cricket batsman and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has suggested that Hardik Pandya should be considered as the sixth option in the Indian bowling attack. Manjrekar said, “Hardik Pandya cannot be your fifth bowler. He has the strength in bowling and his fitness is also good.”
At the moment, the atmosphere among the Indian cricket team players training in the US is enthusiastic, preparing them for the Indian showdown. The team for the World Cup is yet to be selected, but it is expected that the team will complete all the preparations for their campaign.
