The Player issues between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya on the cricket field have affected the energy of the team to some extent.
Amidst this controversy, former all-rounder Irfan Pathan and retired Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden have expressed their views on the IPL.
According to both of them, there should be no discussion about IPL, rather the team should focus on its game.
Irfan Pathan told that the cricketer should only focus on his game and he should not worry about controversies like IPL.
According to Pathan, it is important for the success of the team that the players remain engaged in their game and stay away from these controversies.
Hayden also reiterated the same thing and said that the controversies in the IPL should be forgotten now and the team should focus on getting ready for the World Cup. According to him, the players need to understand each other’s feelings and work together for the team’s success.
Hayden further added, “Without saying a word, you know who the leader is. There is no need to say anything. You look at each other, understand what needs to happen and you work on that. What Irfan said is like music to my ears, that you are not going to talk about this. Don’t even talk about this.”
Further, Pathan shared his view that
“Australia doesn’t have a celebrity culture. Fortunately or unfortunately, we have that. Ideally I would want a good balance between Australian culture and Indian culture, where we both fall in the middle. Sometimes having that kind of culture doesn’t help us. But at the same time, we are what we are. We are not Australians. We are Indians. Our emotions, ethics and mindsets are different.”
Thus, despite the controversies surrounding the IPL and between the players, the team must focus on its game so that it can perform well in the World Cup 2024.
