The prime fast bowler from the Chennai Super Kings, Mustafizur Rahman, is likely to miss the upcoming contest against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday. The 18th contest of the ongoing season of the tournament will be played between the Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday.
CSK faced a defeat in their previous encounter against Delhi Capitals, while Sunrisers Hyderabad is also coming after losing their last contest against Gujarat Titans by 7 wickets.
Mustafizur Rahman is Likely to Miss the Game against KKR too
Mustafizur Rahman has returned to Bangladesh to complete the procedures for a USA Visa for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The exact date of his return to India is not known and therefore it is expected that he won’t be able to play for the side for the upcoming two matches. CSK will face KKR on April 8 in MA Chidambaram Stadium and the game would be very crucial for both sides.
Rahman is the current leading wicket-taker in the tournament
Mustafizur Rahman is the current purple cap holder in the tournament with an impressive seven wickets in just 3 matches. He played a very crucial role for CSK in the initial few matches of the tournament. CSK will definitely miss their prime bowler in the upcoming contests against SRH and KKR, but there are also many versatile players in their squad due to which the side would still be able to maintain the same momentum.
CSK has Secured Two Victories in Three Matches
Chennai Super Kings won their first two matches of the season and in the third game, the side had to face a defeat against the Delhi Capitals. CSK started their IPL 2024 campaign with an impressive win against RCB in their first match of the season and later defeated Gujarat Titans by a huge margin of 63 runs.
Mustafizur Rahman picked up 2 wickets against the Gujarat Titans at an economy rate of 7.50 and took 4 wickets against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural game of the tournament.
The performance of Mustafizur Rahman has been quite impressive for CSK in the past three matches, and his role is going to be extremely important for the side in the upcoming matches too. However, CSK will be on the field without Mustafizur in the forthcoming encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad, and there are high chances that he will not be available for the contest against KKR too.
