Rishabh pant returns in IPL 2024 as DC skipper.
On Tuesday, the chairman of the Delhi Capitals, Parth Jindal, announced that Rishabh Pant will be the captain of the side for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League, starting on March 22.

The Delhi Capitals will play their first contest of the season against the Punjab Kings in Mohali on March 23, and Pant will be seen leading the side. Indian star batter Pant faced a horrific car accident while returning to his home in December 2022 and was away from competitive cricket for the last 14 months.
DC Chairman Expects an Impressive IPL 2024 Under the Captaincy of Rishabh Pant
Under the captaincy of David Warner in the previous season, the Delhi Capitals finished their league stage matches in 9th place. DC could manage to secure victories in only 5 contests out of the total 14 they played in the previous season.
In a media release, the chairman and co-owner of the side, Parth Jindal, said that they are delighted to welcome Rishabh Pant and also appreciated the player for the speedy recovery he made. He also mentioned that under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant, the side is ready to embark on this edition’s journey with a new vigour and enthusiasm.They team is excited to start IPL 2024 with Rishabh as their permanent skipper.
Recovery Period of Rishabh Pant before IPL 2024
Rishabh Pant appeared in his last international clash on December 21, 2022, while playing a test match against Bangladesh. On December 30, 2022, the 25-year-old batter suffered a tragic car accident and was immediately rushed to the hospital in Dehradun.
The doctor had indicated a recovery period of 16-18 months, but his determination to get back on the field reduced the recovery span, and in just 14 months, he was declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to take part in IPL 2024.
Rishabh Pant’s Previous IPL Records
The previous records of Rishabh Pant have been quite impressive, as he scored a total of 2838 runs in 98 matches with an excellent batting average of 34.61 and a strike rate of 147.97, including 15 half-centuries and 1 magnificent century. Pant made his debut in the tournament when he was signed by the Delhi Capitals at a price of Rs. 1.9 crore.
In the last three seasons, his IPL auction price has increased to 16 crore, from 15 crore earlier.
In IPL 2024 he will try to guide DC to the trophy and find a place in T20 world cup in July.
