Ryan ten Doeschate has extensive experience and has also worked in various tournaments, such as the Caribbean Premier League, Major League Cricket, and ILT20, in which he has held various positions.
Gambhir has requested the BCCI for freedom so that he can get the opportunity to choose Ryan ten Doeschate as his chief assistant.
The final decision in this regard lies with the BCCI, which recently announced the appointment of only the Indian coaching staff.
Other reports have claimed that former Indian all-rounder Abhishek Nayar may also join Gambhir’s team as an assistant coach.
The discussions are now centred around what role Ryan ten Doeschate could play in the team if he is picked, although the BCCI wants T Dilip, a member of Rahul Dravid’s current coaching team, to be the fielding coach.
