The Lucknow Super Giants have recently released a statement in which they informed that Shivam Mavi will not be available for the upcoming matches of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. Mabi became part of LSG in December 2023 and was gearing up to participate in the current season of the tournament but unfortunately, due to injury, he won’t be available for the side in the upcoming encounters.

Shivam Mavi’s IPL Journey started in 2018

Shivam Mavi was picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders for an amount of Rs. 3.00 crore in 2018 and was a part of KKR for the consecutive 5 seasons. He played a total of 9 matches in his first season of IPL and picked up 5 wickets with a bowling average of 54.00 and an economy rate of 9.64, including the best bowling figures of 1/14.

In the year 2020, he got the chance to participate in 8 contests in which he took a total of 9 wickets at an average of 23.55 and an economy rate of 8.15. In the subsequent season of the tournament, he came with the best form of his IPL career and picked up 11 wickets in 9 matches with a bowling average of 21.18 and an economy rate of 7.24, including the best bowling performance of 4/21.

LSG Picked Shivam Mavi for an amount of 6.40 crore.

In the 2024 IPL auction, Shivam Mavi was picked up by the Lucknow Super Giants for an impressive amount of Rs. 6.40 crore, but unfortunately, his services will not be available for the side in the entire season of the tournament considering his current injury state. 

Lucknow Super Giants are currently in 4th place in the points table with 2 victories in three matches. LSG started their campaign by facing a defeat in their inaugural game against Rajasthan Royals by 20 runs. The side came with outstanding form and secured two back-to-back victories by defeating PBKS and then Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous two matches.

LSG will play their next game against Gujarat Titans on April 7, 2024, and the side will try their best to clinch a victory in the upcoming clash to improve their standings in the points table. The performance of the side has been impressive in the last two seasons and the team is strictly determined to maintain the same flow in the ongoing season too.
