Gujarat Titans Defeated Punjab Kings to secure their Fourth Victory of the Season

Gujarat Titans emerged victorious against Punjab Kings in the 37th contest of the tournament by 3 wickets. In the first innings, Punjab Kings scored 142 runs at the end of the innings and GT chased down the total in 19.1 overs to secure their 4th victory of the season.

The batting performance of Punjab Kings was not good in the contest as the side could not cross the score of 150 runs and eventually, GT has successfully reached the required total.

Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore Picked up 4 wickets

From the bowling department of the GT, Sai Kishore picked up a total of 4 wickets at the expense of 33 runs in 4 overs at an economy of 8.25 while Noor Ahmad also took 2 wickets by giving 20 runs in 4 overs. Mohit Sharma also clinched 2 wickets by giving 32 runs in 4 overs at an economy of 8.00 while Rashid Khan picked up 1 wicket at the expense of 15 runs in 4 overs at an excellent economy of 3.75.

From the bowling unit of the Punjab Kings, Harshal Patel picked up 3 wickets by giving 15 runs in 3 overs at an economy rate of 5.00 while Liam Livingstone also took 2 wickets at the expense of 19 runs in 4 overs with an economy rate of 4.75. The performance of the bowling departments of both sides was good as the batters did not get many opportunities to play big shots.

Shubman Gill and Tewatia played Impressive Knocks

Shubman Gill scored 35 runs while facing 29 deliveries at a strike rate of 120.69 which includes 5 boundaries while Sai Sudharsan also made 31 runs with a low strike rate of 91.18. The middle order of the side could not contribute much for the side, however, Rahul Tewatia played an impressive innings of 36 runs in just 18 deliveries with an impressive strike rate of 200.00 and led the side to a magnificent victory.

From the Punjab Kings side, Prabhsimran Singh played an innings of 35 runs in 21 deliveries at a strike rate of 166.67 while Sam Curran scored 20 runs in 19 deliveries. The opening pair of the side accumulated 52 runs for the first wicket in 5.3 overs but the side had lost 7 wickets before crossing the 100 run-mark. However, Harpreet Brar played a crucial innings of 29 runs in 12 deliveries and helped PBKS reach a total of 142 runs.
