Today, the 17th match of IPL 2024 is being played between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
In today’s encounter, the effort of the Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab team, which has lost the last two matches, is expected to look more like a win.

GT vs PBKS, 1st Inning: Set target by GT against PBKS
Gujarat suffered a loss in the first innings, after which its players looked very lethargic.
GT could only reach 83 runs in the first 10 overs, with which it also lost 2 wickets.
After this, the batsmen showed some pace from the 11th over and scored 134 runs at the loss of 3 wickets till the 15th over.
By the end of the innings, Gujarat had scored 199 runs by losing 4 wickets in 20 overs and set a target of 200 runs for Punjab to win.
So now it remains to be seen whether Punjab will be able to win in front of such a strong score or not.
GT vs PBKS, 2nd Inning: Recounter by PBKS
While chasing the big score of 200 runs against Gujarat Titans, Punjab batsmen proved to be unsuccessful as Punjab lost four wickets for 71 runs.
Till the tenth over of the innings, Punjab could score only 84 runs with 4 wickets, after which they were able to chase their target of 138 runs in 15 overs, along with this they had also lost 5 wickets.
After this, Punjab players showed tremendous enthusiasm, despite a shower of runs, they managed to achieve the target of 200 runs in 19.5 overs at the end of the innings.
During this, Shashank Singh made a big contribution and remained not out by scoring 61 runs on 29 balls, with which he ensured Punjab’s victory.
After which Punjab managed to recover some of the losses suffered from the last two defeats.
GT vs PBKS: Statement
Ashutosh Sharma: I would like to thank the PBKS team for believing in me so much. Feels so good to perform and more importantly the team won, so I am happy about it.
Shikhar paaji believed in me so much. I was normal and kept believing that I can do it. To Sanjay sir I will thank him so much and he believed in me.
He told me a lot of good things. I was normal and believed that I can do it because I have won games for my home team. Back home I was training with Amay Khurasiya sir. He told me when you get a chance you will become a hero.
Shubman Gill | GT captain: I think a couple of catches went down, never easy (to win) when you drop catches. Bowlers did a decent job, when the ball is coming on to the bat, it’s difficult to defend, I wouldn’t say we were short (on runs).
The new ball was doing something. 200 was good enough. We were right in the game till about the 15th over. always under pressure with dropped catches.
With the way he’s (Nalkande) bowled in the last match and with 7 runs to go, it was a no brainer for us. People who you haven’t seen will come and play knocks like these and that’s the beauty of IPL.
