With this defeat, Bengaluru’s hopes of winning its first IPL trophy were dashed. Bengaluru had performed brilliantly during the season with 6 wins, but they lost to Rajasthan in the eliminator match.
After this defeat, there was an atmosphere of trolling between Virat Kohli and RCB fans on social media.
After last week’s match, a user criticized the extreme aggression of CSK fans.
He wrote, “Extreme aggression: After defeating a big team, they feel that they are now the most dangerous and can beat anyone. However, this aggression always costs them dearly. Dear RCB, keep your feet on the ground. “
Additionally, another user wrote, “RCB lost just when he thought he was winning, CSK is everything. Winner never thinks till the target. West pen is still 0.”
Along with this, some users shared screenshots of an old video of Virat Kohli, in which he had said, “If you can give, then give. You have to take it.”
Faf du Plessis explains why Bengaluru lost:
RCB captain Faf du Plessis shed light on the reasons behind the defeat, saying,
“With the dew coming, we felt we were short with the bat. Did think we were 20 runs shy of what was a good score. Credit to the boys – they fought really well. That’s all you can ask for.
If you look at naturally assessing the pitch and conditions, you would say it’s a 180 pitch because it was swinging upfront and was quite slow.
But what we’ve found out this season, with the impact player, the par score isn’t enough any more. Also with the dew coming in. Extremely proud. Lot of teams – their wheels would’ve fallen off after 1 from 9.
To come back like that, six games in a row, takes a lot of heart and character. We weren’t special tonight in terms of pushing that extra 20 runs with the bat.”
It is clear that due to some shortcomings in Bengaluru’s performance, they were eliminated, but they will get time to prepare for the next season. Once again, IPL gave an exciting experience to the cricket fans, and the fans will remain excited for their favorite teams.
