Indian cricketer Virat Kohli recently made an important revelation during a ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium, which left cricket lovers emotional.
At the ceremony, he revealed that he had never seen Rohit Sharma ’emotional’ in their relationship, but he was seen with emotional eyes after winning the T20 World Cup.
Virat Kohli recalled that memorable moment and said,
“This is the first time in 15 years that I have seen Rohit so emotional. When we were climbing the stairs (at Kensington Oval) he was crying and I was also crying.” Kohli let go of his and Rohit’s relationship despite admitting that he had never seen such emotion in him.
At the ceremony, which was attended by former and current players of the Indian cricket team, Kohli also discussed his journey after announcing his retirement.
He said, “I hope we (Rohit and I) have shouldered the burden and have done nothing better than to bring it (the trophy) back here (Wankhede).”
This emotional moment of Virat Kohli also made him share experiences about his cricket career, in which he clarified how he had carried big players like Sachin Tendulkar on his shoulders at the age of 21. Now Kohli, 35, is on the last journey of his captaincy, and he is hoping that he will play with the same excitement and motivation in his upcoming game as well.
At the end of the ceremony, when an event moderator thought of signing the petition to declare Jasprit Bumrah as a national heritage, Kohli immediately replied, “I will sign it right now.”
Kohli further said, “Bumrah is a once in a generation player and we are happy that he plays for us.”
He said that a young player like Bumrah is a matter of pride for the team and he hopes that he will take Indian cricket to greater heights.
Virat Kohli’s emotional outburst at this unique ceremony touched cricket fans with deep emotions and reflected a unique phase of his cricket career.
Along with this, he also gave clear information about his future plans, which showed his emotions and passion to play cricket even deeper.
Finally, coach Rahul Dravid said, “I will miss this love. I will never forget what I saw on the streets tonight,”
