The National Cricket Academy (NCA) has granted clearance for Suryakumar Yadav to play for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024. SKY joined the squad on Friday, April 5.
The performance of Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024 has been disappointing. Under the leadership of new captain Hardik Pandya, the team has lost three matches in a row. The first two matches were played against Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad at home, and the team lost both.
Earlier this week, MI also suffered a defeat in their first home match against Rajasthan Royals.
Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, they have recorded a hat-trick of defeats and are at the bottom of the points table.
All this fall, there has been speculation ever since several reports claimed that the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has given playing clearance to SuryaKumar Yadav and the star T20 batsman is set to join struggling MI.
Mumbai Indians are going to get a much-needed boost before their next Indian Premier League 2024 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
“All simulations have been done,” news agency PTI quoted a source as saying. Additionally, “Surya has passed all the routine tests except one which are mandatory to obtain an RTP (Return to Play) certificate from the NCA. “Another test is scheduled for Thursday.”
According to reports, with a gap of six days between the matches against Rajasthan Royals on Monday and against Delhi Capitals on Sunday, the team apparently went to Jamnagar for a short break. He is expected to return to training on Thursday and Surya is also expected to be a part of it.
Actually, Suryakumar Yadav had to undergo sports hernia surgery after an ankle injury, due to which his return to cricket was delayed. During this time, he was continuing his rehabilitation program at the NCA in Bengaluru.
