This 25-year-old dashing opener kept Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer out of his list and made Chennai Super Kings legend MS Dhoni the captain.
Prabhsimran started his Dream XI with two explosive openers. He chose Chris Gayle, with whom he has shared the dressing room in Punjab Kings.
Everyone knows the magic of Gayle, who made a splash for Punjab from 2018 to 2021. As his partner, Prabhsimran chose Virender Sehwag, whose bat used to spit fire in the IPL.
Prabhsimran said, “I’ve picked Chris Gayle and Virender Sehwag to open. They’re just pure destruction at the top!”
Tadka of the middle order
Prabhsimran placed Virat Kohli, who is the biggest run machine of IPL, at number three. After him, Mumbai Indians’ stylish batsman Suryakumar Yadav was placed at number 4.
Prabhsimran said, “Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are must-haves. Their consistency and flair are unmatched.”
After this, Hardik Pandya was chosen at number 6 and MS Dhoni as the captain.
About Dhoni, he said, “MS Dhoni as captain and wicketkeeper is a no-brainer. His leadership is unreal.”
Strength of all-rounder and bowlers
Prabhsimran also included former West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard in his team, who played many memorable innings for Mumbai Indians.
In bowling, he formed the pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga, who can destroy any batting lineup. In the spin department, he chose Yuzvendra Chahal, who is also his current Punjab Kings teammate.
Prabhsimran said, “Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, and Yuzvendra Chahal form a deadly attack. You can’t ask for better bowlers.”
Why were Shreyas and Rohit left out?
The biggest question is why did Prabhsimran ignore big names like Shreyas Iyer and Rohit Sharma?
It is surprising to leave out both Shreyas, who has made KKR the IPL champion, and Rohit, who has led Mumbai to five titles.
Prabhsimran justified his choice by saying that balance and finishing touch were most important in his team.
