These days there were reports going viral that Shami and tennis star Sania Mirza are going to get married and along with this some untrue pictures were also coming out on social media.
Shami reacted to these rumours in a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra on YouTube and said,
“I appeal to everyone to avoid spreading lies on social media. Some people are spreading false news about anyone without verifying. These memes may be for entertainment, but they can harm someone’s life.”
He continued, “It’s weird and done for fun. But what can be done? If I open my phone I can see those memes. But I would just like to say that I think memes are made for fun, but if they are related to someone’s life, then you should think about it and then share such things. These people share from unverified pages and get away with saying anything and everything.”
Shami also pointed out the importance of verified pages on social media and said, “But I would like to say one thing – if you have the guts to say all these things from a verified page, then I will respond. Try to achieve success, help people and upgrade yourself, then I will believe that you are a good person.”
Shami also pointed out that it is becoming common to spread false news on social media, which is far from reality and can misinform people. He urged people to use social media responsibly and stay committed to the truth.
