Ravindra Jadeja played a crucial knock for CSK and scored 57 runs in 40 deliveries at a strike rate of 142.50 which includes 5 fours and 1 six while Moeen Ali also contributed 30 runs for the side while facing 20 deliveries at a strike rate of 150.00. MS Dhoni also got the chance to bat as the crowd cheered with his name when he was getting inside the field.
He also did not disappoint the spectators and played an outstanding knock and scored 28 runs in just 9 deliveries at a strike rate of 311.11 including 3 fours and 2 sixes. From the bowling department of LSG, Krunal Pandya picked up the highest two wickets at the expense of 16 runs in 3 overs while Mohsin Khan, Yash Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi and Marcus Stoinis got 1-1 wickets.
KL Rahul’s Oustanding Innings of 82 runs
LSG’s skipper, KL Rahul played an amazing knock of 82 runs in just 53 deliveries at a strike rate of 154.72 including 9 fours and 3 sixes. Quinton de Kock also made an impressive half-century and scored 54 runs in 43 deliveries at a strike rate of 125.58. Both the batters accumulated a total of 134 runs for the first wicket in 15 overs and provided the side with a very strong start.
Nicholas Pooran also made 23 runs in 12 deliveries at a strike rate of 191.67 with the help of 4 boundaries while Marcus Stoinis contributed 8 runs in the end. Even after losing the contest, CSK is still standing in third place as the run rate of the side is far better than LSG. Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Supergiants will meet again on the 23rd of April in Chennai.
