
Jasprit Bumrah won the player of the match award for the 10th time
With an impressive performance against the Punjab Kings, Bumrah won his 10th player of the match award. The form of Bumrah in the ongoing season of the tournament has been quite impressive and he also played a very crucial role for the side in the recent victories of the Mumbai Indians. Bumrah has been a consistent performer with the bowl as his initial few overs with the new ball are very dangerous for the opposing side.
Bumrah has clinched 13 wickets in 7 contests in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League at a bowling average of 12.85 and an excellent economy of 5.96 including the best bowling figures in an innings of 5/21. In the previous season of the tournament, he took a total of 15 wickets in 15 contests at an average of 25.53 and an economy rate of 7.18. In IPL 2020, he picked up a total of 27 wickets for the side with an impressive average of 14.96 and a very good economy of 6.73.
MI stands in the 7th spot
After facing a loss against CSK, MI returned back to the winning track by defeating Punjab Kings in their most recent encounter. The performance of the side was not good at the start of the season as they had to face three consecutive defeats. But, somehow the side has recovered from the loop of losing matches and is currently placed in the 7th position with 3 victories in 7 contests.
