Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid concluded his coaching career by defeating South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 and fulfilled his objective. After this achievement, he gave this message to the countrymen that this victory was a musical experience, which he and his team shared.

After the final match, Dravid addressed the team and said,
“I don’t have words to say, but I just want to say thank you all for making me a part of this incredible memory. I think you all will remember these moments. Yes, I think as we always say it’s not about the runs, it’s not about the wickets, you will never remember your career, but you will remember moments like this. So let’s really enjoy it.
I couldn’t be more proud of you guys. “Dravid thanked all the players, support staff, and everyone else in the team and said, “The way you bounced back, the way you fought, the way we worked as a team, the way we persevered, there have been some disappointments in the last few years where we got close, we never got over the line.
But what these boys have done, what you all have done, what everyone in the support staff has done, the hard work we have done, the sacrifices we have made, you know, I think the whole country is really proud of you all and what you have achieved. And you all should be.”
He also praised the team captain Rohit Sharma and expressed gratitude to him for deciding to retain him as the coach.
“I just want to say, Ro, thank you so much for calling me in November and asking me to continue. I think it has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with all of you, but also Ro, thank you for your time. I know that as a captain and of course, we have a lot of time to talk, we have to discuss, we have to agree, we have to disagree at times, but thank you so much.
I think, it has been great getting to know all of you as people and yeah, I think this is your moment, guys, this is your moment. Remember, it’s not about any individual, it’s about a team. We won this as a team, everything we did over the last month as a team, everything we did, it’s about all of us, it’s not about any individual, it’s about all of us. Thank you so much, couldn’t be prouder, let’s party, let’s really enjoy this.”
In this context, the Board of Control for Cricket in India also praised Dravid for his coaching and called his contribution important. “Behind that fantastic team there is also a successful organization and I want to appreciate the work of GCCI and the people behind the scenes, who have done the work for us. Every one of us comes through a system, every one of us comes through an organization that gives us the opportunity to grow and play, so thank you very much, well done,”
After this big win, there is a wave of new enthusiasm in Indian cricket and the fans have got a chance to experience this success. Dravid’s contribution has proved to be extremely important towards the new rise of the team, due to which the future of Indian cricket looks even brighter.
