The fans slammed the BCCI on social media, and now finally BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia had to break his silence.
Promise of live telecast.
Saikia made it clear that in view of the fans’ anger, the Duleep Trophy final will be telecast live.
He told the Times of India, “The Duleep Trophy final will be telecast live. We have an arrangement with our broadcaster to telecast 100 days of domestic cricket live, which means all our domestic tournaments will be telecast live.”
That is, the final, which will be held from 11 to 15 September, will be shown live. Saikia also said that the BCCI gives a lot of importance to domestic cricket and most Indian players play in these matches.
But the question is, what about the quarter-finals and semi-finals? Fans are still angry because stars like Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav and Riyan Parag are playing in the current matches, but the lack of live coverage has spoiled all the fun.
For example, Aaqib Nabi’s 5 wickets, Manishi’s 6 wickets and centuries of Ankit Kumar, Yash Dhul, Ayush Badoni remained away from the eyes of the fans.

Fans say that BCCI has so much money and resources, then why no live telecast?
Some people are also saying that BCCI vented its anger on the selectors of South Zone for keeping big players like KL Rahul and Mohammad Siraj out.
But Sakia clarified that the board wants to promote domestic cricket and that is why star players are participating in these tournaments.
The Duleep Trophy has returned to its old zonal format this time, and the semi-finals will see stars like Shreyas Iyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan playing for the West Zone.
Mohammed Shami also made a comeback in this tournament, although his bowling was not very good.
