Pakistan’s former captain Misbah-ul-Haq has said that Virat Kohli not playing is the biggest setback for India.
What is the whole matter?
India defeated UAE badly in the first match of this tournament. Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets, Shivam Dubey took 3, and UAE was all out for just 57 runs. Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma chased the target easily.
But the situation is different against Pakistan. India has won the T20 World Cup, but now Rohit and Kohli are out.
The new team has players like Gill, Surya, Hardik, but Kohli will be missed.
Misbah said in a conversation with a Pakistani channel:
“Pakistan definitely has a chance here. If they (India) don’t get a good start and lose two wickets, Virat Kohli won’t be in the team. Their batting is also different, and they haven’t played much against these bowlers, so Pakistan’s bowlers also have a chance.”
And further said, “If you can create a difference from the top, you will have a chance. But the main thing is that Pakistan needs a good start.”
Kohli retired after the 2024 T20 World Cup. After that India played 15 matches, losing only 2.
But Pakistan’s Salman Agha’s team can now take advantage. If Pakistan gets the top order out early, then victory can kiss their feet.
