“I do not have the same relationship with Kohli as before.” “It is the difference in his nature. Rohit, when I first met him and when I meet him now, he is still the same. He hasn’t changed. So, who would you feel more connected to? The one who hasn’t changed or the one who has changed according to the situation?
“I have seen Rohit the same from when I first met him to now. He has maintained his calmness and goodness,” he added.
“I have not been part of the Indian team for five years but whenever we meet he cracks jokes with me. We know the kind of rapport we have maintained with each other. There was a time when we didn’t talk to each other but we spoke and broke that barrier and now, we have a very good bonding,” he added.
“I have seen Virat change a lot. We had almost stopped talking. When you get fame and power, they think people are approaching them with some purpose. I was never one of them.”
“I have known Cheeku since he was 14, when he ate samosas, when he needed pizza every night. But there is a huge difference between the Cheeku I knew and the captain Virat Kohli. Whenever he meets me, he is very respectful, but obviously he is not the same now. The way I joke around with Rohit, I can’t do that with Kohli,” he added.
