Indian opener Abhishek Sharma looked in great form in the second T20 match against Zimbabwe in Harare. 23-year-old Abhishek scored a tremendous 108 runs in his 46-ball innings and scored his first century in T20 Internationals. He hit 8 sixes and 7 fours and gave a wonderful exhibition of batting to the audience.
After getting out for zero in the first match, Abhishek gave a strong reply in the second match by making changes in his batting.
He told after the match that he had also batted with the bat of captain Shubman Gill and he has a deep connection with him.
Abhishek told, “Today I played with Shubman Gill’s bat. So special thanks to the bat as well. And I think this has been happening since the Under-12 days. Whenever I feel it is a pressure game or it is a match in which I should perform well, I usually take his bat. Even in the IPL, I usually ask for a bat. And today he gave me his bat. So I think it went really well.”
This innings of Abhishek showed his way of playing, which he himself understands.
He said about his approach, “My approach is always something like this, because if I feel like it, even if it is the first ball, I will go for it and I usually go for it… And when it is my day, it usually happens. And if it doesn’t happen, I don’t mind because I practice a lot on this mindset and this game that I am playing right now.”
It is also worth remembering that Abhishek also made his name prominent by hitting the most sixes in IPL 2024, where he hit 42 sixes for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
This brilliant innings of Abhishek Sharma has given him a chance to tell the meaning of the game, and he has encouraged himself that he will continue to perform like this in the future as well.
