The middle order also collapsed as Patidar and Jacks returned to the pavilion without crossing the 10 run-mark. The innings of Dinesh Karthik kept the hope of the RCB fans alive and also helped the side cross a total of 260 runs during the run-chase.

Sunrisers Hyderabad broke their own record of scoring the highest runs in an innings in the Indian Premier League which they made in a contest against Mumbai Indians in the same season. The bowling department of RCB is considered weak when compared to the other units participating in the tournament and SRH took the full benefit of that to hit 287 runs on the board in the first innings.
