The 2026 season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is set to take on a completely new dimension, with a mega auction taking place for the first time.

All five teams have made significant changes to their squads. Even champions like Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and RCB had to let go of significant players, while UP Warriors and Gujarat Giants have been given the opportunity to rebuild their teams. The most talked-about players are Indian players, especially the 10 girls who recently won the T20 World Cup.
These are the hot property players
The first name is Deepti Sharma. UP Warriors have released her and set a base price of 50 lakh rupees. Last season’s MVP and World Cup Player of the Tournament, Deepti, is being eyed by every team. Her form with both bat and ball is excellent. UP has the RTM card; it remains to be seen whether they will use it.
Then come the newly emerged stars. Andhra Pradesh’s left-arm spinner N. Sri Charani (base price 30 lakhs) also threatened Australia in the World Cup. Madhya Pradesh’s fast bowler Kranti Gaud (22 years) will definitely be picked to fill the gap in teams’ lack of genuine fast bowlers.
Low Price, High Talent Picks
Sneh Rana went unsold in the last auction, but joined RCB as an injury replacement and then dominated the World Cup. Now, everyone has seen her power-hitting as well. Base price only 30 lakhs.
Maharashtra’s Kiran Navgire scored the fastest T20 century in the Senior T20 Trophy, off 34 balls. Her strike rate was 235 and she hit 17 sixes. Base price 40 lakhs.
Madhya Pradesh’s Vaishnavi Sharma appears to be the cheapest and most dangerous. Base price only 10 lakhs.
She took 5/5 (including a hat-trick) in the U19 World Cup this year, and then took 21 wickets in 9 matches in the Senior T20 Trophy. Economy of 4.50. Any team that releases him will regret it later.
When the auction begins on December 8th, there will be a fierce bidding war for these Indian players. It will be interesting to see which team picks whom!
