After the controversies of the Indian cricket team, BCCI has finally announced a special team for the Sri Lanka tour. Where some players were dropped from the team despite better performance.

For this tour, Gautam Gambhir has replaced his favorite player Rahul Dravid as the coach. The series will start later this month and it will be the first important test of Gambhir’s first coaching experience.
For this unique tour, BCCI has taken another big decision, in which captain Rohit Sharma has handed over the main command to Suryakumar Yadav in the T20 format after retiring from Twenty20 International cricket.
This change has shocked cricket lovers, as Hardik Pandya has performed very well in this form for the last few years, but he has been left out of the captaincy.
In addition, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has questioned the BCCI’s team selection, in which he has questioned the exclusion of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma from the team.
Sanju Samson recently scored his first domestic century against Zimbabwe, while Abhishek Sharma also scored a century in T20I against South Africa. Tharoor tweeted about this, in which he took a dig at the BCCI selectors.
Tharoor wrote on Twitter, “Interesting team selection for India’s tour of Sri Lanka later this month. @IamSanjuSamson, who scored a century in his last ODI, has not been selected for the ODIs, while @IamAbhiSharma4, who scored a T20I century in the #INDvZIM series, has not been selected at all. Rarely has it happened that the success of the Indian team mattered so little to the selectors! Anyway, best wishes to the team.”
The selection of the Indian team for the Sri Lanka tour is full of controversies, but it is also certain that they will be seen excited to perform big in this series. The team has prepared under the leadership of the new coach and this series can be a new beginning for them.
