Rohit Sharma, who recently led India to win the T20 World Cup, took this decision and said, “This was also my last match. There could not be a better time to say goodbye. I wanted this (trophy) so much. It is very difficult to put it in words.”
Rohit Sharma has scored 4231 runs in 159 matches in his T20 career, which includes five centuries and 32 half-centuries. He will also be active in Test and ODI formats at present.
He also clarified about this journey of his career that he did not want to take the decision to retire from T20 cricket, but it brought him here along with his supporters and teammates. He especially thanked his supporters, who helped him reach this success.
Rohit said in the post-match press conference,
“This was also my last match. There could not be a better time to say goodbye. I wanted this (trophy) very much. It is very difficult to put it in words.”
He said, “This is what I wanted and it happened. I was very desperate for this in my life. I am happy that this time we were able to achieve this goal.”
Rohit said in the video, “I did not think that I would retire from T20, but the situation was like this… I felt that this is the perfect situation for me. There could be nothing better than saying goodbye by winning the cup.”
With this big decision, a unique chapter of Rohit Sharma’s unique journey of T20 cricket ends, which he had set up during his playing time. This journey of his will always be remembered by his fans and cricket lovers.
