Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has questioned the good performance of bowling and batting during the program against the T20 World Cup 2024 in a press conference. He said that there is no talk of factionalism and politics inside the team, and it is just external talk.
Pakistan has been eliminated in the group stage of the T20 World Cup after losing to the USA and arch-rival India. After this, the players of the team have been severely criticized and some former players have demanded a complete change of the team.
Rizwan accepted the criticism, “It is true that we have not won any trophy, but we have reached the final and semi-final. There are many reasons behind our defeat and we should think about it.”
Rizwan said during the conference, “People are saying that there is some politics and some differences inside the team. If there were any differences, we have lost the match before. This is just external talk. The same team has played the final and semi-final, but it is true that we have not won any trophy.”
Captain Babar Azam is also concerned about the changing situation of the team, and he is having difficulty in uniting the team. There have also been controversial statements from him about factionalism, which can have a negative impact on the team environment.
He said, “The criticism of the team is justified and we deserve it, because we did not live up to expectations. Players who cannot face criticism will not be able to succeed. We are disappointed with our performance in the T20 World Cup. There are many reasons behind our defeat. When a team loses, one cannot say that the bowling and batting are doing well.” Meanwhile, according to reports, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has not taken an immediate decision on Babar Azam’s captaincy as the next white-ball series is scheduled to take place in November.
In this situation, the upcoming strategy and decisions of the Pakistan cricket team are being monitored, leading to controversies over the future of the team.
