Rajasthan Royals Emerged Victorious in a Thrilling Contest against KKR by 2 Wickets

The 31st contest of the Indian Premier League was played between the Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 16. RR defeated KKR by 2 wickets to secure their 6th win of the season, while KKR faced their second defeat. After winning the toss, RR opted to bowl first, and KKR made a challenging total of 223/6 at the end of 20 overs. RR chased down the target in 20 overs with 2 wickets remaining to clinch another win in the season.

Jos Buttler’s Outstanding Century Helps RR Win the Contest

Jos Buttler played an impressive innings of 107* runs in 60 deliveries at a strike rate of 9 fours and 6 sixes. He opened the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal but both batters could accumulate only 22 runs for the first wicket Jaiswal was dismissed on the fifth delivery of the second over after scoring 19 runs in 9 deliveries. Sanju Samson also could not do much for the side and scored 12 runs in 8 deliveries while Dhruv Jurel scored only 2 runs. 

Riyan Parag played a crucial innings for the side and scored 34 runs in just 14 deliveries at a strike rate of 242.86 with the help of 6 boundaries. Ravichandran Ashwin could not do much with the bat for the side and scored 8 runs in 11 deliveries. In the Rovman Powell scored 26 runs in 13 deliveries at a strike rate of 200.00 and made a good partnership with Buttler to lead the side to another victory.

Avesh Khan and Kuldeep Sen Picked up 2-2 Wickets

From the bowling department of the Rajasthan Royals, Avesh Khan and Kuldeep Sen took 2-2 wickets at an economy of 8.75 and 11.50 respectively. Trent Boult and Chahal also picked up a 1-1 wicket for the side. From the batting department of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunil Narine played an outstanding knock of 109 runs in just 56 deliveries at an impressive strike rate of 194.64 including 13 fours and 6 massive sixes.

Raghuvanshi also contributed 30 runs for the side in just 18 deliveries while Rinku Singh played an inning of 20 runs in 9 deliveries with the help of 3 boundaries.
