The 33rd contest of the ongoing session of the Indian Premier League will be played between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians in Chandigarh. Punjab Kings are currently placed in the 7th place while Mumbai Indians are standing in the 8th position. 

The upcoming game is going to be very crucial for both sides as both teams will try their best to secure an impressive win in the upcoming clash to improve their standings in the table. PBKS faced a defeat in their previous clash against RR while Mumbai Indias also lost their last game against CSK at Wankhede.

Punjab Kings Won only 2 Matches

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians also won only 2 matches out of the total 6 they played in the season and are placed at the 8th spot with 4 points and a net run rate of -0.234.

Rohit Sharma smashed an outstanding hundred in the previous game but still, MI faced a defeat as the bowling department of CSK did not give any opportunity to the opponents to play big shots. MS Dhoni also smashed 3 consecutive sixes to Hardik Pandya in the final over which cost a lot to Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians Aim for the 5th spot

If Mumbai Indians secure a victory in the upcoming clash against Punjab Kings in the upcoming clash with a great margin, the side might also secure the 5th spot in the table and still, there is a big chance for MI to bounceback in the tournament. The start of the season was very disappointing for the side as they faced three consecutive defeats but after returned to the winning track by securing a win against Delhi Capitals and RCB in consecutive matches.

Shikhar Dhawan will not be available for the side due to a shoulder injury and due to this the top-order of the side will be under pressure. The batters of the side also could not contribute much for the side in the previous matches which reduces the chances of winning for the Punjab Kings.
