KL Rahul named captain of the ODI series against SA

Team India has suffered a major setback. Regular captain Shubman Gill and vice-captain Shreyas Iyer have both been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against South Africa due to injury.

Wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul has been named captain in their place.

Who’s in, who’s out?

The biggest news in the team is that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have returned to the ODI squad. Tilak Verma, Rishabh Pant, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Ravindra Jadeja have also been included.

Axar Patel and Mohammed Siraj have been omitted from the team that toured Australia this time. Dhruv Jurel has retained his place, even though Pant has returned.

Nitish Kumar Reddy also remains in the team as Hardik Pandya is not yet fit. The bowling attack consists of just three main fast bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Prasidh Krishna. Spin bowlers include Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, and Jadeja.

Action begins on November 30th

The first ODI will be played in Ranchi on November 30th, the second in Raipur on December 3rd, and the third in Visakhapatnam on December 6th. The two teams will then play five T20Is.

Full squad:

KL Rahul (captain/wicketkeeper), Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Tilak Varma, Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Dhruv Jurel.
