In the 28th contest of the Indian Premier League, KKR emerged victorious by defeating the Lucknow Supergiants by 8 wickets. In the first innings, LSG scored 161/7 and KKR chased down the target in just 15.4 overs to secure an impressive victory. This is the fourth victory of the season for the Kolkata Knight Riders and the side is placed at the second position in the points table.

Phil Salt’s Impressive Knock of 89 runs 

Phil Salt played an outstanding knock of 89 runs in just 47 deliveries at a strike rate of 189.36 including 14 fours and 3 sixes. Sunil Narine lost his wicket after scoring 6 runs in 6 deliveries only while Angkrish Raghuvanshi also could not do much for the side and returned to the pavilion after scoring 7 runs only.

Shreyas Iyer played a crucial knock of 38 runs in 38 deliveries at a strike rate of 100.00 including 6 boundaries and stayed on the crease till the end. KKR lost their first wicket at the score of 22 runs and they lost their second wicket at the total score of 42 runs in the fourth over. Iyer and Salt made a brilliant partnership of 120 runs and led the side to victory.

KL Rahul and Pooran Played Crucial Knocks for LSG

KL Rahul played an innings of 39 runs in 27 deliveries at a strike rate of 144.44 including 3 fours and 2 massive sixes. Nicholas Pooran scored the highest runs from the side and played an innings of 45 runs in just 32 deliveries including 6 boundaries at a strike rate of 140.63. Ayush Badoni scored 29 runs in 27 deliveries while Marcus Stoinis could not do much with the bat for the side and got dismissed after scoring 10 runs in 5 deliveries. 

From the bowling department of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Mitchell Starc took 3 wickets at the expense of 28 runs in 4 overs at an economy rate of 7.00. Vaibhav Arora and Sunil Narine picked up a 1-1 wicket for the side at an economy rate of 11.33 and 4.25 respectively. Andre Russell also clinched 1 wicket at the expense of 16 runs in 1 over.
