Mahesh Bhupathi Writes on X about RCB

Watching very disappointing gameplay from the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous contest as the side conceded 287 runs in just 20 overs, Bhupathi took to X to share his thoughts regarding the performance of the side. He wrote on X that for the sake of the IPL, BCCI needs to enforce the sale of RCB to a new owner who can put efforts into building a sports franchise like the other sides of the tournament.

The performance of the side has been tragically poor in the current season and despite having many match-winners in their squad, RCB failed to clinch even a single title in the IPL. AB de Villiers, Gayle, and Maxwell were also a part of the side who are considered as one of the most explosive batters but still, the bowling unit of the side could make a notable contribution and eventually, the strong batting capabilities of the side could not help in winning the titles. 

RCB stands in the last position in the table 

With only 1 victory in the previous 7 matches, RCB stands in the last place in the IPL 2024 Points Table. Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have secured 2 wins in 3 contests and are placed at the 7th, 8th and 9th positions respectively. Rajasthan Royals are the table toppers with 5 victories in 6 contests while KKR stands in the second place with 4 wins in 5 matches.

The upcoming journey of the Royal Challengers Bangalore looks extremely difficult considering the playoffs as half of the league-stage games have been over and facing 1-2 more losses will surely throw them out of the playoff race.
