India A Cruise Into Semifinals After Dominant Win Over Oman

A thrilling match was played at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Tuesday. India A defeated Oman by six wickets in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025.

The match was like a virtual quarterfinal, and India ‘A’ put on a superb all-round performance, securing a spot in the final four alongside Pakistan Shaheen.

This match was a thrilling one in the tournament, where the young players performed brilliantly.

India ‘A’ were set a target of 136 runs. But they got off to a poor start. Young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed for just 12 runs, and Priyansh Arya was dismissed for 10 runs. The team had lost two wickets for 37 runs in just five overs.

This was a rare failure for Vaibhav, who had been in great form up until then. But Naman Dheer steadied the innings. He scored 30 runs off just 19 balls, including two fours and two sixes. But he was dismissed midway through the innings.

Harsh Dubey’s Match-Winning Innings

Harsh Dubey came on the field again. He turned the match around. The left-handed batsman scored an unbeaten 53 off 44 balls, including seven fours and a six. He kept the scoreboard ticking without taking any risks.

Nehal Wadhwela also supported him with 23 off 24 balls. The two shared a 66-run partnership for the fourth wicket, ending Oman’s innings.

Captain Jitesh Sharma hit a boundary in the last over to help India ‘A’ reach 138 for four in 17.5 overs.

Oman’s Batting Lineup Collapses

Earlier, Oman won the toss and elected to bat, but were restricted to 135/7. This score always seemed low. Captain Hammad Mirza made a quick start, scoring 32 off 16 balls, including three fours and two sixes.

But the Indian spinners staged a comeback. Leg-spinner Suyash Sharma was the star, taking two wickets for 12 runs in four overs. He dismissed Karan Sonawale (12) and Zikaria Islam (0).

Harsh Dubey took 1/30 and Naman Dhir 1/5, maintaining pressure in the middle overs. Wasim Ali fought for Oman, scoring an unbeaten 54 off 45 balls, but the other batsmen failed to provide support. Gurjapaneet Singh took two wickets (2/37) in the end to further demoralize Oman.

India ‘A’ will now play the first semi-final against the top seed of Group A on Friday. Pakistan will also play their match on the same day.

This win has maintained the team’s momentum, and they will enter the business end of the tournament with full confidence.
