Rahul’s brilliant performance
KL Rahul is in great form in the ongoing five-Test series against England. He has been scoring runs consistently since the first match. He has already crossed the 400-run mark in this series, which is proving to be his best Test series so far.
Before the fourth Test, he needed only 60 runs to join the 9,000-run club. In the first innings, Rahul scored 46 runs off 98 balls and came close to this figure. In the second innings, he batted cautiously and finally crossed the 9,000 run mark.
Rahul has scored these runs in 219 international matches at an average of more than 39. These include 19 centuries and 58 half-centuries. In Tests, he has more than 3,716 runs in 62 matches, 3,043 runs in 85 ODIs, and 2,265 runs in 72 T20 matches.
Not only this, Rahul made another record in his name. He has become the second Indian opener after Sunil Gavaskar to score 1,000 Test runs on England soil.
Rahul said, “I have always loved children. Our family is very happy with the arrival of our daughter. She is very cute, but I had to leave for IPL just two days after her birth. Then it was very difficult for me to decide to play the match of India A. I knew that I would not be able to see my daughter for the next two months.”

KL Rahul has now joined the elite list, which includes legends like Sachin Tendulkar (34,357 runs), Virat Kohli (27,599 runs), Rahul Dravid (24,064 runs), Rohit Sharma (19,700 runs).
There are 16 Indian players in this list, and Rahul is ranked 16th with 9,023 runs. Sachin Tendulkar tops this list, who has 100 centuries and 164 half-centuries in 664 matches.
