Women’s Asia Cup Players Rankings After final
Several star players have attained new highest ratings in ICC’s latest T20 Women’s Rankings, and this ranking recognises their unparalleled performance.
India opener Smriti Mandhana top-scored for her team with a brilliant 60 in the Asia Cup final. After her brilliant knock, Mandhana has achieved her career-best rating in the T20I batsmen’s rankings. She has now moved to the fourth spot behind Australia’s Beth Mooney.
Sri Lanka’s inspirational captain Chamari Athapattu has also reached new heights in his career. Coming off a brilliant performance in the Asia Cup, where he scored 304 runs and won the Player of the Tournament title, Athapattu has moved up three places to sixth in the T20 batsmen’s rankings.
Pakistan’s left-handed batsman Muneeba Ali has also attained a new career-high rating. Due to the brilliant performance during the Asia Cup, Muneeba Ali has moved up six places to 35th position in the list of T20 batters.
Bangladesh’s Nigar Sultana (14th), Sri Lanka’s Harshita Samarawickrama (20th) and Pakistan’s Gul Firouzja (64th) also improved their rankings.
There have also been many changes in the current ranking of T20 bowlers. Pakistan spinner Sadia Iqbal has achieved the new highest rating of her career. After a fine show in the Asia Cup, she has moved up one place to fourth behind England’s Sophie Ecclestone.
India’s Renuka Singh has also broken into the top 10 in the T20 bowlers’ rankings. After taking seven wickets at an average of 13.14 in the Asia Cup, she has moved up four places to fifth. His teammate Radha Yadav has also moved up seven places to 13th position.
Three Sri Lankan bowlers have also improved their rankings. Udeshika Prabodhini (24th), Sugandhika Kumari (27th) and Kavisha Dilhari (30th) have improved their rankings after impressive performances.
Dilhari has also overtaken West Indies superstar Hayley Matthews in the T20I all-rounder rankings, securing the 17th position.
With these unparalleled performances and improved rankings, the stars of women’s cricket are marching towards a new high. This tournament has not only proved to be important for her career but is also boosting the popularity and recognition of women’s cricket.
