The team’s head coach Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki have announced that they may say goodbye to the franchise before the 2025 IPL season.
Nehra and Solanki started their first season with GT in 2022, where they successfully led the team and won the title.
In 2023 too, the Titans reached the final again under their guidance. They led the team to a strong and high level of play.
According to Cricket Next, GT’s coaching staff is now planning ahead with former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. However, no final decision has been reached yet.
Additionally, there is also a possibility of major changes in the team, which may also include other assistant coaches like Ashish Kapoor, Naeem Amin, Narendra Negi and Mithun Manhas.
The 2024 IPL season was a challenging one for Gujarat Titans, when they had to finish eighth under the leadership of new captain Shubman Gill.
The team also had the big challenge of Hardik Pandya moving to Mumbai Indians, which made it difficult for them to find the right balance. Along with this, the absence of Mohammed Shami due to injury created further complications for the team.
IPL 2025: Dravid to return as mentor coach in Rajasthan?
Along with Gujarat, Rajasthan is also considering changing its coach, where according to the report, another important option is that Rahul Dravid can return as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals.
Dravid has served Rajasthan in 2014, so it is being speculated that it might be time for him to have a reunion with the franchise, as he has played for the Royals before and served as a mentor.
Dravid’s last stint with the Indian cricket team as the head coach was memorable when he led India to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.
He contributed significantly in taking Indian cricket to new heights and the news of his return is a sign of a new excitement on the battlefield.
