Former Indian cricketer Jacob Martin has once again landed in controversy. He was arrested by the police early Tuesday morning in Vadodara after his luxury SUV collided with several parked vehicles.
According to the police, the accident was caused by drunk driving.
Jacob Martin is 53 years old and has played 10 One Day Internationals for India. The incident reportedly occurred around 2:30 AM on Tuesday when he was driving through the Puneet Nagar Society area of Vadodara.
His MG Hector car suddenly went out of control and crashed into three parked vehicles on the roadside. The collision was so severe that the vehicles sustained considerable damage.

According to the Akota police, Jacob Martin was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Police said that after the collision, local residents rushed to the spot, and the car owners filed a complaint. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case.
Police officials told PTI that the case has been registered under laws related to negligence and drunk driving. Martin’s SUV has also been seized during the investigation. The police are now conducting a detailed investigation into the entire matter.
The owners of the damaged vehicles have demanded action from the police. Initial investigations have revealed that there were no casualties or injuries in the accident, but there was significant financial loss.
Name Linked to Previous Controversies
Jacob Martin’s name has been associated with legal issues before. In 2011, he was arrested by the Delhi Police in a case related to human trafficking. This case received considerable media attention at the time.
