Delhi Beats Saurashtra by 3 Wickets Without Virat Kohli in Vijay Hazare Trophy

A thrilling match was played today in Bengaluru in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Delhi team defeated Saurashtra by 3 wickets, even without Virat Kohli.

Priyansh Arya’s Explosive Innings

In the match, Saurashtra batted first and scored 320 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. Vishvarajsinh Jadeja scored a magnificent century of 115 runs, while Ruchit Ahir added an unbeaten 95 runs. Navdeep Saini bowled brilliantly for Delhi, taking 3 wickets for 41 runs in 10 overs.

Delhi got off to a quick start in the chase. Opener Priyansh Arya smashed 78 runs off just 45 balls, including 6 sixes and 5 fours. Tejaswi Dahiya also played a quickfire innings of 53 runs off 51 balls. Captain Rishabh Pant didn’t contribute much, getting out after scoring 22 runs off 26 balls.

Navdeep Saini’s Brilliant Innings

The match went down to the wire. When Delhi needed 73 runs in the last 12 overs, Harsh Tyagi scored 49 runs off 45 balls. Navdeep Saini played an unbeaten innings of 34 runs to guide the team to victory. The two forged a crucial partnership for the 7th wicket.

Delhi chased down the target of 321 runs in 48.5 overs, losing 7 wickets. With this win, Delhi is at the top of Group D with 12 points from three matches.

Virat Kohli will return to the team for the next match against Railways on January 6th. Saini was chosen as the Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
