Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team Set to Tour India in December for ODI and T20I Series

The Bangladesh women’s cricket team is coming to India in December this year. This tour is part of the ICC Future Tours Programme (FTP), and will include three ODIs and three T20I matches.

Bangladesh Women to tour India in December

A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official told Cricbuzz on Thursday that discussions are underway between the two boards to finalize the schedule for the tour. The matches are expected to be played in Kolkata and Cuttack.

Women’s ODI Championship Begins

This tour will mark the start of a new cycle of the ICC Women’s ODI Championship for both teams.

A BCB official said, “We are expected to leave on December 14 or 15 for the tour as per the proposed draft that has yet to be finalized by both boards, but we have been asked (by the hosts) to prepare for the series with that date in mind.”

That is, the team could leave for India on December 14 or 15, but the schedule has not yet been finalized.

Bangladesh recently participated in the ICC Women’s World Cup, where they won just one of seven matches and finished seventh out of eight teams. The players returned home on October 28th and are now on a short break.

Two players, including captain Jyoti, will not play in the NCL

Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Jyoti had previously announced that she would not play in the National Cricket League (NCL) to focus on her fitness.

A BCB official stated that left-arm spinner Nahida Akhtar and fast bowler Marufa Akhtar will also not play in the tournament, which begins on November 8th.

The reason is their workload management. Nahida suffered an injury during the World Cup, while Marufa needs a break to recover from the tournament’s heavy workload.

This tour will be a crucial opportunity for both teams to strengthen their preparations. For Bangladesh, this series will be a great opportunity to prove themselves against a strong team like India.

These matches, taking place in Kolkata and Cuttack, are sure to be exciting for fans. Bangladesh’s players will be refreshed after their break and ready for the series.
