Afghanistan’s chief selector calls out Cricket Australia for boycotting games due to women’s rights issues, saying it’s unfair to the men’s team.

Afghanistan’s chief selector, Asadullah Khan, has slammed Cricket Australia. He says Australia is repeatedly shying away from playing bilateral series due to political reasons.
Asadullah has previously been an Afghan player, and now selects the team.
Asadullah lashes out at Australia
Asadullah said in an interview with PTI, “Our women’s cricket team hasn’t played any matches in recent years, and this will take time to change. But Cricket Australia and other boards linking cricket with politics, I don’t think that’s a good sign for the gentleman’s game.”
He agrees that women’s cricket is banned because of the Taliban, but the men’s team should be kept out of it. Australia canceled three T20 matches last year because he advocates for women’s rights. Asadullah said this is unfair.
Afghanistan has earned ICC full member status through hard work, not charity. Their spin attack is one of the best in the world, and their win percentage is excellent. Yet, some countries are bringing politics into the picture, which is wrong.
Thanks to India, Confidence in the World Cup
Asadullah thanked India and the BCCI.
“We are thankful to all teams that continue to play with us, especially India. The BCCI has played a major role by providing us grounds and IPL exposure.”
India hosts Afghanistan’s home matches and gives players opportunities in the IPL. Asadullah has full confidence in the T20 World Cup.
“Our unit is strong, the openers are settled, and our spin and pace attacks can beat any team. We genuinely believe we can win the World Cup.”
The Afghan team is ready and can beat any team.
